Despite being a major city Liverpool provides a good number of wasp nests every season as there are lots of trees and open spaces which provide the wasps with the aphids and bugs they need to feed their young.
Please note that our operatives do not carry ladders and are not allowed to
use ladders other than short step-ladders. We use telescopic extension lances which gives us a reach of around 10 meters (33 feet) which is more than adequate for most domestic properties.
If the entrance to the nest is above gutter height and not visible from the ground please inform us when you phone. For nests high on rooftops, in roof valleys etc it may be necessary to send a two man climbing team at increased cost. This satisfies our obligations under Working at Heights regulations and is safer for you and our operatives.
Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays, we don’t increase the charge – it’s still £49.50. Presently the Liverpool City Council price for destroying a nest in Liverpool is £62 so there is a considerable saving to be made. Price taken from Liverpool City Council website on 25 Feb 2020.
Seasonal Update As Of 18th June 2022.
In Liverpool we now have got an interesting and very aggressive bumble
bee, the Tree Bumblebee (Bombus hypnorum). While we try not to harm bees, this type is dangerous when nesting low down in a garden or on the structure of your building.
We do not usually want to harm bees but this bee is unsafe when nested in the area of persons, especially little children and pets.
It is an easy bee to identify with its orange thorax and white posterior and if you suspect that you might have a nest of these bees we recommend ringing us straightaway. Do not get too close! For assistance with distinguishing this species check out our Wasps and bees site.
We do all we can to support bees when ever possible and we our selves now own a hive of honeybees and are now able to supply a small amount of local honey. Take a look at our Harrier Honey page for complete details.

Our charge for destroying wasp nests is preset at £49.50 and we will never ask you for more unless access apparatus such as scaffolding or a cherry-picker is required to access the nest. Please note that working at height laws are very rigorous these days so please tell us if the nest is any higher than the guttering of a typical domestic home.
The only exception is in the case of a late season wasp nest, and this may need added work to make things safe and secure for you. Please click the link for complete details.
We try and cope with wasp nests from the out side of the building whenever practical and we prefer to use long lances in the place of ladders, it’s much safer for all concerned.
Also, and more importantly DO NOT attempt to close or block the nest entrance with mastic or mortar etc., you’ll drive the wasps into the house and when we arrive we need the entrance to be open so as to perform the treatment.
If you call us out to a nest where you have sealed the entrance we will charge you extra for the additional time it takes us to deal with the nest. On occasions when an entrance has been sealed or where you have attempted to deal with the nest yourself we reserve the right to charge you a call out fee without carrying out the treatment or to attempt the work with no guarantee given.
What we do
You will be provided with the soonest possible appointment, frequently same-day and our operative will kill the wasp nest by injecting a tiny measure of pesticide into the spot where the Wasps are coming and going. The wasps will carry this wasp killer powder into the nest on their bodies and the whole nest will be spent within the hour.
As long as we can access the wasps’ nest from the exterior of the building you do not even have to wait in. If we can get to the nest without going through the house we can take a card payment over the phone and deal with the nest without you having to wait in. Also please don’t forget to unlock any gates etc that we may need to pass through and move any dustbins etc which might be in the way.
If there are any issues which may be pertinent such as the presence of bats etc then please do not wait until we arrive on site to tell us about them, we will not carry out a treatment if it’s unsafe but we will ask you for a call-out fee.

Flea infestations are on the increase again, even with people who frequently treat their cats and dogs.
This seems to be simply because populations of cat fleas and dog fleas in the Liverpool Pest Control area of operation are starting to be resistant to the active ingredients in the flea control products and solutions on sale to the general public.
We are finding that dog fleas and cat fleas are especially troublesome in areas with town foxes.
It is vital to address a flea infestation quickly, especially in the presence of toddlers as fleas are intermediate hosts of tapeworm.
