We now have got the Tree Bumblebee (Bombus hypnorum) in the Preston area. Though we try not to destroy bees, this type is unsafe when nesting low down in a garden or on the structure of your building. We do not generally like to eliminate bees but this bee is risky when nested in the area of people, in particular little children and pets. Its characteristic markings, black body, the orange thorax and white backside, make it easy to recognize and we suggest calling a pest controller straightaway you suspect you may possibly have a nest. In the interim keep well away as this bee can and will sting. If you are unsure about identification then please click on our wasps and bees site.

The only exception is in the case of a late season wasps’ nest, where an additional treatment to your attic may be needed.
Also, and more importantly do NOT attempt to close or block the nest entrance with mastic or mortar etc., you’ll drive the wasps into the house and when we arrive we need the entrance to be open so as to perform the treatment.
If you call us out to a nest where you have sealed the entrance we will charge you extra for the additional time it takes us to deal with the nest. On occasions when an entrance has been sealed or where you have attempted to deal with the nest yourself we reserve the right to charge you a call out fee without carrying out the treatment or to attempt the work with no guarantee given.
On nearly all occasions we will not even need to have to employ ladders as we use very long extension lances which are less dangerous for our technicians, your self and your property.
You will be provided the earliest possible appointment, commonly same-day and our operative will eliminate the wasps’ nest by injecting a small amount of insecticide into the gap where the wasps are coming and going. The wasps will transport this wasp killer powder into the nest on their bodies and the entire nest will be spent inside of the hour.
Provided that we can access where the nest is without going through the home then you can prepay using the internet and we’ll deal with it whilst you are out. Cat Fleas and Dog Fleas are proving to be more troublesome in the Preston Pest Control region and we are getting an increasing number of requests from people who continuously treat their cats and dogs and nevertheless are still suffering flea infestations in their houses.
This may perhaps be that populations of cat fleas and dog fleas are growing to be resistant to the active ingredients in the flea treatments sold to the public.
The growth of these fleas is also caused by the increase in the presence of city foxes in many areas.
It is vital to address a cat flea or a dog flea problem as they can lead to serious problems, particularly for youngsters as they can carry and pass on tapeworms.
